Hello, br> br>I wanted to personally share a few words regarding Discussion Kingdom & Disney Projects. When I set out to create a new website, I wanted a place where anyone and everyone could come and enjoy talking about Disney. Myself, like many others, were not happy with the way other Disney forums were running. In that spirit, I created Club D23 – a website dedicated to discussion of Disney, with a focus on D23 and ways to improve D23. Now, nearly two years later, the site has changed in many ways. In order to make the site less focused on D23, we ended up changing our name to Discussion Kingdom. This new name suited the website much better, as we were strictly focused on Disney related discussion, especially relating to the theme parks. br> br>I entered into the “Online Disney Fan Community” (if you want to call it a “community”) much later than everyone else. My background was with Virtual Magic Kingdom, working on sites such as the now closed VMKMagic.com. It was a blast, but VMK made me realize my true passion: Disney theme parks. I decided to embrace that with the websites I’ve created over the past few years. My most recent “project” (no pun intended) was DisneyProjects.com. This site was originally designed to be the center for all Disney related projects around the world. That was a big task to undertake, and it ultimately didn’t work out. All these websites were never designed to be a “permanent addition” to the fan community, but more of a temporary resting place for those moving onto bigger and greater projects. That’s exactly what I’m planning on doing. br> br>Since launching the sites, I’ve moved down to sunny Central Florida. I’m planning on continuing my career here (hopefully long-term) with the Walt Disney Company. I’ve had the opportunity to meet many great Cast Members all which have amazing stories to tell. If you would like to get in touch with me, you can find me temporarily at @DisneyProjects on twitter (this account will be closing later this year) and at @Exprcoofto on twitter. Thank you to the staff and the members who made Discussion Kingdom such a fantastic place on the web! br> br> -Travis |
